Sport Programme Sets Sail

This New Year's Day was slightly different to others, Home Park and the opening of the aptly named Mayflower Stand, provided the perfect home for the launch of the Mayflower 400 Sport & Wellbeing Programme.

We were able to feature promotional stands surrounding the stadium, with thirty of our Mayflower 400 volunteers on hand to answer questions and provide information to the public. At half-time, we paraded the pitch as Mayflower 400's CEO Charles Hackett spoke on the PA system, about the wider programme and key events for the city during the next 12 months.

Almost 16,000 people were present at the New Year's Day event and the majority would go away, enthused and certainly more informed about everything we have to offer. Ranging from the year-long #GetActive campaign, which focuses each month on a separate sport or topic, to one day events which involve international representation from the United States, Holland and more.

We thank everyone involved in the event, the Football Club, Mayflower 400, our guests and especially our committed young volunteering team, whose passion & pride for their city is phenomenal. Here's to an amazing 2020 ahead, #GetOnBoard2020.
