Football Piazza Event
Our second Piazza Event was a success, it is great to see hundreds of the community interacting and giving football a try. We had a host of FREE football activities on offer for people to take part in all day. These included football darts, a goalie challenge, a blow up pitch, as well as speed and accuracy challenges. Even though it was raining and worries about Coronavirus were imminent, we still saw over 500 people engage with the event, it was great to see such varying ages taking part too.
'Co-op Food' supported the event all day providing free fruit for the public. We are looking forward to working with them at future events.
It is great to see Argyle Community Trust providing free events for the public, and what better place to do it in the centre of town. It is also great to see that they are promoting health and wellbeing at the event by handing out free fruit to everyone taking part.
Our dedicated and enthusiastic ACT Ambassadors were with us from 8am to set up till close at 4pm to pack down, they spent the day engaging with the public to spread the word about Mayflower 400 and our sports programme. Their contribution is greatly appreciated and these young volunteers are an asset to the city.
We are due to host 8 more Piazza Events throughout 2020, including: racket sports, basketball, netball, golf and many more! Keep an eye out for date releases!
