The Mayflower 400 Community Cup

The 2020 edition of the Mayflower 400 Community Youth Cup will take place on the weekend of the 2nd & 3rd May 2020. A redeveloped Home Park will play host to the two-day youth football tournament which will see over sixty teams in the U8-11 age groups compete for the winning prize.

An event which sits on the Mayflower 400: Get Active calendar, which launched on the 15th February 2020 & was sold out within 48 hours.

Young participants and their families will travel the breadth of Devon, Cornwall and beyond to take part in this prestigious youth tournament. Argyle Community Trust staff will be on hand to welcome over 10,000 attendees across the weekend, helping them to enjoy their time at the event.

There will be additional activities going on throughout the weekend to engage the spectator audience throughout the weekend and several of these will carry a Mayflower 400 theme. One of these activities will take place in the family stand area of Home Park and will give young participants and parents to come and enjoy the full experience of the Mayflower 400 Sporting Voyage programme, using video and booklet resources to engage and enthuse people in the historic year of 2020.

Event organiser, Argyle Community Trust's Deputy Community Manager, Jason Chapman spoke about the involvement of the Mayflower 400 story within the event.

It's a pleasure for this event to sit as part of the Get Active programme, the reach of the Mayflower 400 team will enable us to provide a more well-rounded experience for people across the weekend.
