Education - Sporting Voyage

Sporting Voyage.JPG

An educational programme for KS2 pupils which combines history, religious studies and physical education in order to inspire young children to learn about their city and produce home tasks that inspire further involvement in our campaigns and the wider Mayflower 400 year.

The programme aims to engage over 3,000 learners over the course of 2020 and has already been delivered in sixteen primary schools across Plymouth. The first two weeks of the programme are focussed around videos created in partnership with both Katy Cawkwell, a professional storyteller & Katherine Bell, a lecturer from Plymouth University. Students are asked to complete tailor made workbooks and home-based learning tasks in order to reinforce their learnings. The following four weeks focus on sporting tasters with an American flavour.

Home schooling option available.
